Axe Throwing Coach

Overview:


As an Axe Throwing Coach at our venue, you will be responsible for providing a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for our guests while teaching them the art of axe throwing. You will instruct participants on proper throwing techniques, enforce safety protocols,

and ensure that everyone has a fantastic time during their visit.


Key Responsibilities:


1.   Safety Enforcement:

  • Prioritize and enforce safety procedures at all times to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
  • Conduct thorough safety briefings for all participants before they begin throwing.
  • Monitor the throwing area to prevent unsafe behaviour and intervene when necessary.


2.   Instruction and Demonstration:

  • Teach guests proper axe throwing techniques, including grip, stance, and release.
  • Provide demonstrations of correct throwing form and accuracy to help participants improve their skills.
  • Offer personalized coaching to individuals or groups based on their experience level and progress.

3.   Customer Engagement:

  • Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for guests of all backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions and providing assistance as needed.
  • Encourage friendly competition and team-building among groups to enhance the overall experience.
  • Speak in front of crowds of up to 50 and engage/ banter with groups as needed
  • Deliver the opening dialog and instruction to crowds at the start of each session.

4.   Equipment Maintenance:

  • Inspect axes regularly to ensure they are in good condition and safe for use.
  • Handle minor maintenance tasks such as sharpening blades and replacing worn handles.
  • Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to management promptly.


5.   Event Hosting and Coordination:

  • Assist with the organization and execution of special events, including birthday parties, corporate outings, and tournaments.
  • Coordinate group activities and facilitate axe throwing games and competitions.
  • Ensure that event spaces are set up and cleaned according to established standards.


Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in axe throwing, coaching, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with diverse groups of people.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to effectively instruct and demonstrate techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to axe throwing activities.
  • Physical fitness and agility to demonstrate proper throwing techniques and assist with equipment setup.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and address conflicts or emergencies calmly and efficiently.


Additional Requirements:



  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the venue's operating hours.
  • Willingness to undergo training in first aid, CPR, and other relevant safety certifications.
  • Passion for recreational activities and enthusiasm for sharing the experience with others.
